What to Bring

Forest School hiking in rain

We meet rain, snow or shine. We believe there is never bad weather. This includes parents/guardians. In the rare event that it is unsafe to be outside for some reason we will reschedule or relocate.

Homeschool Nature Learning

Water & Snacks are a must. If you are wanting to stay past your lunch time, bring a lunch. Occasionally we do a fun community meal or community activity where supplies may be needed. Nature journals are always encouraged. This is a place to let your child be themselves so accessories welcome!

Homeschool adventures

We have various ages of parents and kiddos. There are a few babies and toddlers but mostly their siblings who range in age from 6-13. We have a nice mixture of boys and girls - and all families for the most part have homeschooled since birth. The meet up is suitable for all ages as it is not drop-off.

Homeschool magic

Layer up in the winter. We recommend a wool base layer,  wool or fleece mid layer followed by jacket and waterproof pants. Finish off the look with mittens, boots and a hat. Always dress like you are going to make a snowman. When we have rain in the forecast bring an umbrella or wear your rain gear. When it warms up bring buckets & swim wear for after hike play.

We have vault toilets on location! Not the best smelling choice but they work! I encourage doing what works best for you & your family.

Since this is not a drop off program you will always be within range to help your child.

Forest School Friends

We typically hike two miles each meet up, although sometimes that varies based on special events, holidays or seasonal activities. When we hike (especially on Mondays) kids often hike together and play the entire way.

Babies 2 & under are best carried in a carrier, however an all terrain stroller (like a Bob) will be fine on the trail.

What to Wear

I prefer long sleeve everything in the summer.

Please make sure to pack extra clothing <3

Always check the weather before leaving so you can best dress for the conditions.
